Xantha Ward: A Columbus Designer Championing Sustainable Fashion

January, 2025

Goodwill Columbus and Xantha Ward Partner to Showcase Thrifted Fashion

Xantha Ward is a Columbus-based designer known for her innovative garments crafted from sustainable materials. With over 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, she has discovered her unique creative voice. As a lifelong fashion enthusiast, Xantha began designing before her teenage years. She established her design company in 1987, and practiced sustainability by using recycled materials. Starting out, she couldn’t afford fabric, so she used thrifted denim to design new creations like jackets, bags, and jewelry.

Xantha’s first sustainable collection was titled, “Ghetto Blues,” and reworked thrifted denim into wearable art. Her connection to the community drives her forward and her interest in using second hand or scrap fabric in her designs makes her a cutting-edge designer within the space. Each one-of-a-kind creation is available for purchase at her new storefront on Broad St.

Currently, in partnership with Goodwill Columbus, Xantha Ward has launched a special four-piece capsule collection made from second-hand textiles sourced from Goodwill Columbus retail stores. Visit our Town & Country, Morse Rd, Clintonville and Brice Rd Goodwill Columbus locations to see her beautiful creations that highlight the potential of upcycled fashion.

We invite you to celebrate this collaboration and explore how Xantha Ward’s designs can help you discover your unique style. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the artistry of sustainable fashion and everything Goodwill Columbus has to offer.
