UPDATES FROM RYAN
Goodwill Columbus Team,
As we kick off the New Year, I’m excited to share some updates and initiatives that will shape 2025. Your dedication and hard work have been key to our success, and I’m confident these new programs and events will further enhance our mission and impact in the community.
First up, Columbus Works joins the Goodwill Columbus Team. We’ve acquired Columbus Works, a nonprofit that provides job training and support services to individuals experiencing significant trauma and poverty. We’re thrilled to have this team join Goodwill, which will broaden the services we already provide to many individuals in our community.
Next, we’ve recently launched our first-ever loyalty program, Do Good, for our retail donors. This innovative program allows our donors to unlock exclusive savings, unique giveaways, and one-of-a-kind experiences with their donations. Donors can easily enroll by visiting goodwillcolumbus.org/dogood or scanning the QR code at our donation doors. Once enrolled, they can check in each time they donate to earn points, which can be redeemed for various rewards. For questions, please visit goodwillcolumbus.org/dogood or reach out to [email protected].
Check out our new employee intranet site, Goodwill Connects. This platform will serve as a central hub for all internal communications, resources, and updates. It’s designed to improve collaboration and streamline access to important information.
Lastly, I want to remind everyone of our employee 50% discount in our stores. It’s a win-win for us. You get access to an amazing collection of clothes, home goods, and furniture at very affordable prices, plus it helps support our overall mission.
Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work. I appreciate what you do every day!
Best,
Ryan

GWC Holiday Roundup!🎄
The ADS Leadership Team recently took part in Game Show Battle Rooms for a fun team building event!
Game Show Battle Rooms is the #1 new game show experience for everyone to enjoy! Face-off against your friends, family, coworkers, teammates and more in their custom arenas – all facilitated by their game show hosts!
Goodwill Columbus Retail and the Talent Acquisitions Department teamed up to decrease the mistakes and turn-around time on their onboarding packets. In June, all Retail Management went through Retail Leadership training. Retail Leadership then trained their team members at their locations on proper onboarding procedures.
Since then, the Talent Acquisitions Department has been keeping tabs on which retail locations have turned in the most onboarding packets with the least corrections and turn-around time for the second half of 2024.
There was a two-way tie for first place and a two-way tie for second place:
Campus/High Street – 0 onboarding packets with corrections
Hunter’s Ridge – 0 onboarding packets with corrections
Hilliard/Main Street – 1 onboarding packet with corrections
North Hamilton – 1 onboarding packet with corrections
The retail locations have done such a great job that the Talent Acquisitions Department is making this competition between the retail locations a bi-annual event! The next tally of correct onboarding packets will be in June 2025.
Amazing job, Retail team!
